Minimum qualifications:
•Ph.D. in precision agriculture, agricultural systems management, or agricultural engineering, or a Ph.D. in a related scientific or engineering field (degree must be completed before assuming the position)
•Interest and ability to develop a nationally-recognized, externally-funded research program and a high quality teaching program in the broad areas of precision agriculture, with emphasis in one or more areas such as UAS, agricultural robotics, or management of big spatial data in agriculture
•Interest in and ability to mentor undergraduate and graduate students
•Ability to work independently and as a multidisciplinary team member
•Ability to communicate effectively including excellent oral and written communication skills
Preferred qualifications: •Demonstrated experience in educational programming, especially at a university
•Operational knowledge and understanding of advanced farming systems, including precision agriculture machinery and UAS
•Understanding of Northern Plains agriculture
•Understanding of agronomy, soil science and crop protection
•Experience in preparing successful competitive research proposals
•Leadership, including experience in managing teams and supervising technical support staff |
