Job Description
SUMMARY:

The Manager of Education oversees the management, development and planning of course offerings of ASM International as well as the achievement of proposed financial results. Education is delivered in print, on-line, and live instruction

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

•Prepares budget and planning schedules for the continuation of established ASM Education programs as well as participates & supports newly developed products and initiatives. •Monitors financial objectives for all education activities, assuring fiscal soundness and growth of activities within areas of responsibility. •Develop and utilize Distance Learning technology to expand current education programs. •Develops course offerings, including instructors, and arranges for specific instructors contracts for courses throughout the year. •Working with the education related committee, and its subcommittees, facilitates activities to assure adherence to ASM strategic plan. Works with these volunteers to identify potential products and services to take through a quick assessment process for funding opportunities. •Works with Product Managers to define and implement specific content, identify potential new products and services, and ensures the success of all educational programs. •Direct acquisition and develop guidelines and strategies for soliciting new and revised market-focused content and identify potential new products and services. •Ensure systems are in place to develop, maintain and deliver education offerings of high quality and low cost. •Establish best practices, efficient processes and use project management discipline in all essential activities. Participate actively in project management teams for education offerings and activities. •Work with marketing and selling staff in the development and implementation of marketing and sales plans for education offerings. •Develop appropriate educational offerings that provide the foundational support for the certification programs that serve ASM’s constituencies.


Requirements
QUALIFICATIONS:

•Background and experience in education/training activities management. •Project management acumen. •Skills in leading teams. •Great volunteer relations are essential. •Excellent written and verbal communication skills. •Professional and customer oriented. •Ability to understand and analyze financial data and to prepare & manage budgets. •Ability to mentor, coach, lead and develop staff.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

•Bachelor’s degree in relative discipline required. •Five or more years in education/training activities •Experience in working with volunteers is essential •Experience with developing business plans and budgets desired

REASONING ABILITY:

Ability to analyze data in order to support departmental initiatives. Ability to monitor projects and determine when corrective action is required. Ability to develop strategies to ensure efficiency and effectiveness of activities.
