Covaxx, a subsidiary of the UBI Group, has joined the fight against COVID-19 and is rapidly developing precision antibody-based assays and vaccine candidates needed to successfully manage and slow the rate of the outbreak. As a result, Covaxx is quickly expanding to meet aggressive development and production goals, and is seeking to immediately hire a Quality Control Microbiologist to provide microbiological support and testing of cGMP environments.
Responsibilities include, but not limited to:
Perform microbiological testing (endotoxin, bioburden) for water
Perform microbiological testing (endotoxin, sterility and bioburden) for raw materials, in-process materials, intermediates and final product
Perform environmental monitoring of the clean rooms
Perform other microbiological assays
Maintain historical files on organisms found in classified areas; microbial identification and trends
Coordinate with Manager and other team members in organizing workload as to ensure timely release of all testing
Troubleshoot instrument problems and work with the lab supervisor/manager and equipment manufacturer’s technical services to resolve issues
Perform accurate and timely sterility testing per procedure and report results
Perform in-house microbiological assays, water, and steam attribute testing and other sampling procedures
BS in Biology, Microbiology or equivalent with 1-2 years or more in diagnostics, pharmaceuticals or biotechnology.
Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
Working experience within the QC laboratory
Familiar with FDA cGMP and Data Integrity guidelines
All candidates must be willing to work on a full-time basis at Covaxx’s headquarters in Hauppauge, New York.
