Qualifications

• A minimum of a bachelor’s degree in civil/structural engineering or a related field, with emphasis on structural design is required;
• Five (5) years of demonstrable experience in the design and redesign of bridges, aerial structures and buildings with reinforced concrete and steel;
• A Professional Engineering (PE) license for DC, MD and/or VA is required;
• Demonstrated experience in structural work of transit infrastructure such as bridges, bridge joint replacements and rehabilitation of similar infrastructure is preferred;
• Knowledge of and practical experience in bridge and building design criteria and standards;
• Familiarity with industry standards and best practices, comfortable working with other engineering professionals;
• Familiarity with building codes;
• Knowledge of design for a variety of building types, bridges and materials including reinforced concrete, structural steel, and masonry;
• Working knowledge of AutoCAD, Revit and BIM; and
• Excellent verbal/written communication skills, and strong technical writing skills.
