Based in Pittsburgh, PA, Kerotest Manufacturing Corp., a world class supplier of products for the energy markets, is looking for a QA Manager. For over 100 years, Kerotest has been a leading supplier of valves, systems, fittings, and accessories for the energy sector, with a particularly strong history in the natural gas distribution and transmission areas.

The QA Manager will manage all aspects of Quality Assurance and Control including maintenance and improvement of the ISO9001 Quality Management System (QMS) certification, supplier quality, process and product quality, customer complaints, nonconforming material control, corrective action activities, and internal and external QMS auditing.

Responsibilities and Duties

• Support root cause analysis, working with Kerotest Engineering and Production personnel, to resolve product quality and performance issues
• Interface with Customers regarding specifications and requirements, regulatory matters, and corrective actions related to returns and complaints
• Support Kerotest personnel in providing data and documentation to meet Customer and regulatory requirements
• Act as Management Representative for Customer audits of Kerotest Operations and the QMS
• Provide support and guidance to the Kerotest Louisiana Operations (KLO) Quality Assurance (QA) Manager in managing QMS processes at the Louisiana facility
• Interface with Suppliers to support effective communication of requirements, and continuous improvement of Supplier performance
• Develop, document, and revise QMS instructions and procedures
• Review and approve new or revised instructions, procedures, and drawings
• Collaborate with Engineering and Production personnel to develop effective standards, methods, and procedures for inspection and test
• Train employees in QA procedures and the QMS

Qualifications and Skills

• Bachelor degree in an Engineering discipline and minimum of 5 to 10 years of quality assurance experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Experience developing, implementing and maintaining certification of an ISO 9001 Quality Management System, including internal and external (supplier) quality auditing.
• Knowledge of steel casting, plastic molding, welding, and machined products and processes desired.
• Must be able to read and interpret mechanical drawings including GD&T.
• Must have experience with MS Office platforms (Excel, Word, etc.). Experience with MRP systems a plus.
• Six Sigma Black Belt, ASQ CMQ/OE or CQE certifications a plus.

Work Environment

This job encompasses both office and manufacturing environments. Manufacturing environment may require lifting (up to 40 lbs), pushing, pulling, reaching, turning, climbing, sitting, standing, and walking. Occasional travel to other Kerotest facilities, suppliers, and customers may be necessary.
