• Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in Solid Waste, Architectural, Structural, or Civil Engineering. A Professional Engineer (PE) license may be substituted for the degree. 
• Four (4) years of progressively professional Solid Waste, Architectural, Structural, or Civil engineering experience to include two (2) years of lead/supervisory experience.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Eight (8) years of progressively professional Solid Waste, Architectural, Structural, or Civil engineering experience.
• Two (2) years are serving as a lead or senior engineering-level position. 
• Work experience applying principles and practices of the engineering field related to solid waste and or structural building design and construction.
• Experience reviewing plans and specifications for conformance to codes, ordinances, and standards.
• Experience researching and preparing reports on engineering problems.

Additional Information

 CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT:  Upon selection, candidates must:

1. Be willing to participate as "critical" and "essential," when needed, during emergency operations.
2. Possess a valid driver's license and provide proof at the time of the interview.
3. Be physically able to lift and carry at least thirty (30) pounds repetitively.
4. Be able to work outdoors in various weather, dust, including weather emergencies and other types of emergency conditions.
5. Pass a pre-employment physical to include alcohol and drug testing and a background investigation.
