On behalf of the Medical College of Wisconsin (MCW) and the Clinical & Translational Science Institute of Southeast Wisconsin (CTSI), CareerPhysician, LLC, a national leader in academic executive search, is inviting applications for the newly created position of Associate Director, Data Science for the Clinical & Translational Science Institute of Southeast Wisconsin. The incoming Associate Director will have the opportunity to advance scientific knowledge through the use and development of semantic tools, methodologies and approaches and applying that knowledge to innovative research. The Director will apply their experience in the collection, integration, and mining of phenotypic and multi-omics data, to advance the understanding of biological pathways, networks, and genetic interactions. Direct experience developing integration strategies and methodologies in the support of biomedical research and relevant experience in one or more disease areas (i.e., cardiovascular, oncology, neurology, GI, infectious diseases, etc.).
Key Opportunity Highlights:
- The CTSI at MCW was founded in 2010 with support of $20 million dollar grant from the National Institutes of Health (NIH) led by Dr. Reza Shaker.
- The CTSI comprises MCW, Versiti Blood Research Institute/Versiti Blood Center of Wisconsin, Children’s Wisconsin, Clement Zablocki VA Medical Center, Froedtert Hospital, Marquette University, Milwaukee School of Engineering, and the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee.

The ideal candidate should possess MD, MD/PhD or PhD degree in bioinformatics, machine learning, artificial intelligence, biostatistics, or a related field; prior academic appointment in informatics or relevant discipline; and a minimum of 7-10 years of experience in scientific computing role in Life Sciences.
