We are currently seeking a creative, highly talented Bridge Engineer for immediate employment in our Columbus office. Successful candidate will have demonstrated professional experience in structural engineering, specific to bridge design. Projects include participation in a wide variety of bridge and highway structure related assignments ranging from simple highway grade crossings bridges to complex bridge design. Other responsibilities include:
Perform and check bridge design and analysis computations
Prepare construction plans for bridges and other transportation related structures using MicroStation and AutoCAD.
Develop contract documents such as specifications and review of construction documents such as shop drawings or contractor requests for information.
Perform bridge inspections & load ratings
Provide Technical guidance to entry level engineers
Bachelors’ degree in Civil Engineering with a Structural focus is required.
Professional Engineer (PE) designation is required (Indiana or Ohio, with a willingness to get one in both)
Minimum 10 years of experience working as a structural design engineer on bridge projects
Experience with design and plan development for DOT and transit projects; ODOT and INDOT preferred
ODOT level 1 and 2 designer
Proficiency with AutoCAD and MicroStation
Bridge inspection level 1 or ability to obtain
Understanding of ODOT bridge design manual
Detail oriented with strong skills in structural analysis, steel design and concrete design as it relates to bridges
Diversified knowledge of engineering principles and practices in broad areas related to bridge design; foundations design.
Diversified knowledge of technology, materials, equipment, design concepts and construction techniques
