The Process Engineer will provide oversight and troubleshooting support to the dissolving wood pulp and kraft pulp production business including utilities and recovery, and help maintain a safe, environmentally sound, and efficient operation to achieve maximum quality production at minimum cost.
Major Job Responsibilities:
Provide Process Engineer support to the Pulp Business Group including:
Assure and contribute to a safe work environment.
Ensure that all environmental commitments are stricttly adhered to.
Support day to day operations.
Support and assure continued Environmental, Health/Safety, and Quality ISO certification compliance.
Develop, execute, evaluate and report on trials for product development, process improvement, and product enhancement
Provide data analysis to support customer complaint evaluations, monthly and quarterly reports.
Support process troubleshooting and optimization efforts.
Make recommendations for LSS efforts and process improvements. Lead LSS teams.
Provide process improvement training to operations personnel.
Support all areas of the Pulp Business including wood room, fiberline, bleach plant, pulp dryer, recovery, recausticizing and plant utilities.
A minimum of bachelors in engineering is required. BS in Chemical Engineering or Pulp and Paper Science preferred.
Prior pulp experience preferred.
Computer knowledge – background in Microsoft suite, Proficy, etc... strongly preferred.
Understanding of human relations and supervision in an organized labor environment.
Demonstrated ability to achieve results through people
Experience with Lean Six Sigma and/or dissolving pulp a plus.
