Miller Engineering, PC is looking for an experienced Professional Engineer for our growing structural engineering design team. We are looking to hire an experienced engineer with excellent mathematical and analytical skills. Structural engineers are expected to be ethical, detail-oriented, creative, and possess problem-solving and communication skills.  The successful candidate will perform engineering designs, drawings & calculations while working closely with the design team to provide the client with an economical & constructible final product.

Professional Engineer Responsibilities:

• Design structural elements & structural detailing
• Perform analysis of new & existing building components
• Manage multiple projects based on timelines & priorities, including but not limited to:

• Scope
• Planning
• Scheduling
• Assigning work
• Time tracking of design engineer & production staff
• Documentation
• Review of drawings

• Track & report on project progress
• Provide technical advice to project staff as needed
• Plays a role in the production of structural plans as necessary
• Collaborate with contractors and construction project managers
• Complete field inspections

Professional Engineer Requirements:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited course of study
• Licensed Professional Engineer, must be licensed or willing to be licensed in the State of Missouri (as well as other states as needed)
• 5+ years experience in Structural Engineering including, but not limited to:

• Steel Design
• Reinforced Concrete Design
• Wood Design
• Masonry Design
• Light Gage Steel Design

• Knowledge of industry practices, codes, standards, specifications & procedures
• Exceptional attention to detail
• Must be able & willing to work both independently and in a team
• Develop and maintain relationships and partnerships with senior executives, clients, peers, and partners
• Excellent computer skills with experience in the following programs:

• Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams)
• Bluebeam
• Tekla Structures, Enercalc & RISA
• Autodesk Revit & AutoCAD

• Past experience with technical report writing preferred
• Past experience in construction preferred
