The Southeastern Pennsylvania Transportation Authority (SEPTA) is the sixth largest transportation system in the United States, with a vast network of fixed route services including bus, subway/elevated, trackless trolley, light rail, and commuter rail serving a 2,200 square mile service region.
We are seeking to hire candidates for our Engineering Managers, Senior Project, and Project Engineer positions in Mechanical, Electrical, Civil and Power Engineering. These positions support SEPTA’s Mission by ensuring projects are designed and constructed in compliance with standard specifications, contract specifications and contract plans.
Manager – Engineering
These positions are responsible for undertaking diverse engineering management assignments that are considered to be of “high” complexity in size and scope. As Manager of Engineering, the successful candidate will be involved in design, manufacture, and engineering support of “highly” complex projects and responsible for directing and overseeing all aspects of the planning, design and procurement, which includes managing subordinate staff in the Engineering group.
Salary: $128,752. $5,000 salary increase for those with a PE/RA License
Requirements: Bachelor's Degree and eight years of relevant engineering experience.
Senior Project Engineers
These positions are responsible for undertaking engineering/quality assurance assignments that are considered to be of "significant complexity" in size and scope. This position is further responsible for providing technical support and direction for engineering/quality assurance activities including the definition and coordination for design review and implementation. Also, establishing inspection plans, program/project development and consulting, statistical methods, audits, and continuous improvement approaches to ensure activities are consistent with SEPTA mission values and goals.
Salary: $105,014. $5,000 salary increase for those with a PE/RA License
Requirements: Bachelor's Degree and seven years of relevant engineering experience.
Project Engineers
These positions are responsible for undertaking engineering/quality assurance assignments that are considered to be "complex" in size and scope. This position is further responsible for providing support for engineering activities and continuous improvement approaches to ensure activities are consistent with SEPTA mission values and goals.
Salary: $95,004. Mentors available for those seeking EIT registration
Requirements: Bachelor's Degree and five years of relevant engineering experience.
