The SANDAG Engineering and Construction Department is responsible for implementing projects that enhance the regional transportation network and improve the efficiency of existing resources in close collaboration with our regional partners. Examples of significant projects currently underway or in the planning process include the Otay Mesa East Port of Entry, LOSSAN Rail Corridor Improvements, and high-priority Regional Bikeway Projects in the City of San Diego and other jurisdictions.
Associate Construction Management Engineer (2) - $77,642.77 - $120,346.30 Annually
The Associate Construction Management Engineers will assist project managers in the construction management for capital project delivery within the San Diego region, including design, construction, and quality management.
These positions are ideal for engineering professionals with a strong interest in working on projects that will directly benefit the San Diego community. These positions will allow the selected applicant to learn from experienced professionals and develop expertise in the fields of construction and quality management.
Experience and Qualifications:
The minimum education, training, experience, and qualifications include a bachelor’s degree with major course work in civil, structural, electrical, systems or transportation engineering, and registration as an Engineer in Training (EIT) or as a Professional Engineer (PE) in the State of California is preferred. At least three years of increasingly responsible, professional capital project design, construction, and delivery experience, preferably for transportation related projects.
Document Control Administrator - $63,876.90 - $99,009.20 Annually
The Document Control Administrator will support the creation of a centralized document control system that will store, manage, and track records and documents for the capital program. This is a great opportunity for a candidate who is highly organized, possesses great communication skills, and is open to learning new things.
Experience and Qualifications:
The minimum education, training, experience, and qualifications includes a bachelor’s degree with major course work in business administration, construction management, or similar field. A combination of education and recent work experience may be considered in lieu of a degree. A Document Control Certification is preferred (ISO 9000), and three years of recent experience with document control or records management (high volume); experience with documents and records used within the construction and engineering or government environment preferred.
Engineering and Construction Administrative Analyst - $63,876.90 - $99,009.20 Annually
The Administrative Analyst will support the Capital Development Project Team – a team of 30 employees, with approximately 50 active capital contracts worth 8 billion dollars.
This role will have a heavy focus on supporting project managers who are preparing construction contracts for bid, supporting project managers with contract administration activities during construction, and assisting with project close outs. This is an excellent opportunity for a candidate who possesses great communication skills, is open to learning new things, and is excited about supporting improvements in the San Diego region.
Experience and Qualifications:
The minimum education, training, experience, and qualifications includes a bachelor's degree with major course work in Public Administration, Business Administration, or a related field, and three years of professional program and contract administration experience. Equivalencies considered.
