Bihl Engineering is a woman-owned firm specializing in traffic engineering and transportation planning consulting.  We partner with public and private organizations to provide expertise on a range of traffic and transportation related topics including transportation masterplanning, traffic analysis, traffic studies, design and optimization of traffic signals, and guidance on local and regional transportation issues.

We are searching for a Staff Engineer or Engineering-in-Training who will help drive the growth of Bihl Engineering through direct client service and the support of other professionals while also consistently displaying superior initiative and the ability to act independently.

Responsibilities:

• Lead / assist in the production and presentation of project reports and materials
• Visit project sites and perform field work as necessary
• Integrate data and observations from site visits into project analyses
• Perform traffic analyses using industry-specific software
• Assist in the generation of new revenue
• Work effectively with coworkers, government agencies, and outside consultants
• Communicate professionally with clients and outside consultants
• Display superior initiative and decision making

Qualifications:

• Willingness to work safely and ethically at all times is required
• 4-year degree from an ABET accredited institution preferred.
  • An undergraduate degree in other STEM fields may be considered if complimented by a graduate degree in engineering
• Excellent general computer skills including a high level of proficiency with Microsoft Office
• Knowledge of or ability to learn industry specific software
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
• Excellent communication skills – written and verbal
• Ability to travel independently to project and client sites
• Willingness to work additional hours if required to meet client demands
• Ability to read and understand schematics, diagrams, and similar technical documents
• Have passed or will promptly pass Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) exam (Staff Engineer-in-Training only)
