NORPAC is looking for an experienced Electrical Engineer who will bring proactive thinking to our collaborative work environment while planning, designing, and executing safe, reliable, and practical electrical power and process control systems.
Duties and Responsibilities (Essential Duties and Functions)
Responsible for providing all aspects of electrical engineering support across the NORPAC site with a particular attention and focus on safe design, safe execution, and safe practices
Develop and maintain positive and collaborative internal and external relationships
Electrical system design and associated calculations
Develop equipment specifications including material selection and sizing of cables, conduit, starters, variable speed drives, and power distribution equipment
Lead, support, and engage in review efforts of specifications, drawings, safety, and failure risk management
Electrical project management including justifications, specifications, scope and estimates, bids, contractor selection, contractor supervision, scheduling, budget control, checkout, commissioning, and start-up
Inter-disciplinary coordination with operations and maintenance, particularly as it relates to supporting optimization, preventative maintenance, and troubleshooting
Application of regulatory codes and standards (NEC, NESC, NFPA 70E, OSHA, WISHA, IEEE and ANSI)
Application of corporate policies, standards, and practices
Adherence to accepted best practices in design, installation, and documentation
Adherence to accepted best practices for management of change
Required Qualifications and Key Skills:
S. degree in electrical engineering and/or equivalent education/experience
Minimum 1 year experience
Demonstrated experience with motors and variable speed drives (AC and DC)
Demonstrated experience in power distribution
Ability to generate commitment and motivate employees toward a common goal
Demonstrated experience in project management
Able to collaboratively and effectively work with lead team and other internal and external customers to achieve mill goals and objectives
Action-oriented and results-focused person, with the ability to flow to work
Able to thrive in an autonomous, empowered, self-driven, and rapidly evolving and improving work environment
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Skilled in prioritizing multiple tasks and demands

Strong computer knowledge and skills that includes experience in Microsoft Office suite, including Outlook, Word and Excel
Other duties as assigned and identified
Desirable:
Five or more years of experience in a manufacturing facility with two or more years in the pulp and paper industry
