A DAY IN THE LIFE OF AN URBAN PLANNER PROJECT MANAGER
As an urban planner who manages projects, you are vital to enhancing and building FHI Studio's Planning Studio. You focus on projects throughout the northeast that include comprehensive plans, master plans, housing plans, zoning, and design guidelines. The plans you develop and contribute to are innovative, engaging, and focused on implementation. Your attention to detail and understanding of diversity, equity, and inclusiveness in planning and design foster an engaging and collaborative environment for various stakeholders. You use your strong time management skills while leading project teams, providing excellent client service, and conducting business development. You lead all aspects of projects including leading the development of proposals, attending interviews, and interfacing with clients throughout the course of a project. You also present FHI Studio's work to the client and the community in public and virtual forums.
URBAN PLANNER PROJECT MANAGER QUALIFICATIONS
Degree in urban planning, community planning, or a related field
7+ years of experience in planning
Experience gathering, analyzing, and sharing various forms of data and insight
Experience in working to understand communities of concern
Strong oral, written, and visual communication skills
Proficiency with MS Office
Experisnce with Adobe Creative Suite preferred
Experience working in GIS or community-based mapping tools
We are looking for a self-driven individual who can work independently and in collaborative environments, who can utilize strong organizational skills to problem solve and manage multiple tasks effectively. Our ideal candidate preferably has experience with a variety of stakeholders, presenting public presentations, and can travel for projects.
