Applications are now being accepted for the position of Traffic Engineer – Safety in the Development and Technical Services Division at Ada County Highway District in the Boise, Idaho area. This is a full-time, exempt position with a starting salary of $74,672 - $91,520, DOQ.

Primary Responsibilities:
Under the direction of the Safety Engineering Manager, the Traffic Engineer - Safety performs, prepares, and reviews complex traffic engineering projects, including road safety audits, signal design, traffic operations/safety analysis, ADA & APS improvements, neighborhood traffic management for traffic calming, parking studies, and/or urban roadway design related to Traffic Engineering.
The Traffic Engineer - Safety must demonstrate a strong capacity for exploring, identifying, designing and implementing new and proven safety countermeasures in a diverse transportation environment.
Qualifications:
The successful candidate must have considerable knowledge in urban roadway safety principles from a traffic engineering perspective.
The successful candidate must be skilled in CAD design software and have experience in plan production.
A Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Traffic Engineering or a related Engineering field is required.
Idaho P.E. License required.
