The Biology Department at Missouri State University invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor with expertise in plant or animal Genetics/Genomics. The successful candidate will help address the Department’s need to teach and mentor a growing population of students interested in areas of genetics and genomics. Requirements include a Ph.D.in genetics, genomics, or in a related field or completed before the time of hire, peer-reviewed publications in genetics and/or genomics, excellent communication skills, and strong support of MSU’s mission. Primary responsibilities include: a) research in genetics and/or genomics; b) teaching lectures and labs in genetics, general biology I, and an upper division course in genetics to total 9 contact hours per semester; c) advising graduate (Masters) and undergraduate students; and d) pursuit of external funding in support of research.
