Orange County Utilities is hiring a Chief Engineer for the Solid Waste Management Division!
Make a real environmental impact in a leadership role that blends engineering, resilience, and project management.
We’re seeking a Chief Engineer to lead critical operations at the Orange County Landfill where you’ll
Manage multimillion-dollar operations, contracts, and regulatory reporting
Provide principal management of a capital improvement plan estimated at more than $200 million over the next 10 years
Drive environmental compliance and performance outcomes
Coordinate with consulting engineers, contractors, and County staff in the design and construction of landfills including liner and leachate systems, landfill gas management systems, stormwater management systems, and final closure systems.

Requirements
Graduation from an accredited college or university with a bachelor's degree in civil, environmental or related engineering degree and eight (8) years of waste management engineering experience (A master's degree may be substituted for one year of the required experience)
P.E. license or ability to obtain FL P.E. license within 6 months of hire
Experience with the planning, design, and construction of landfills, transfer stations, MRFs and other waste management facilities and systems, permit compliance activities, budget management responsibility, staff supervision, and supporting the operations of active waste management systems is strongly preferred.
