*This position can be based in; East Hartford, CT, Manchester, NH, Providence, RI, or Boston, MA.
As a member of this team, you will contribute to CDM Smith's success by;
-Performing work as the Project Technical Leader for traffic design projects and pursuits in New England.
-You will be responsible for coordination of the technical content of projects including driving the technical vision of the end product, ensuring the technical accuracy of the work product, ensuring the right technical skill sets are on the project at the correct time, and developing and mentoring technical project staff.
-Design of traffic signals/signal systems through the PS&E submissions, design of pavement marking, striping, and signage plans, safety analysis – crash studies, crash modification factors, mitigation analysis, traffic impact studies associated with land development projects, corridor studies, freeway/interchange capacity analysis, roundabout analysis using SIDRA, traffic simulation, and modeling.
-Attends conferences, symposia, etc. to improve the visibility of the firm's products and services in collaboration with applicable sales staff.
Minimum Qualifications:
-Bachelor's degree in Civil, transportation, or Structural Engineering or related discipline.
-Professional engineering (PE) license.
-7 years of related experience. Domestic and/or international travel may be required. The frequency of travel is contingent on specific duties, responsibilities, and the essential functions of the position, which may vary depending on workload and project demands.
-Equivalent additional directly related experience will be considered in lieu of a degree.
Preferred Qualifications:
-Strong knowledge of the MUTCD.
-Design of traffic signals/signal systems through the PS&E submissions.
-Design pavement marking, striping, and signage plans.
-Safety analysis – crash studies, crash modification factors, mitigation analysis.
-Traffic impact studies associated with land development projects.
-Experience with; Corridor studies, ITS, Freeway/interchange capacity analysis, Roundabout analysis using SIDRA, Traffic simulation and modeling – Synchro/SimTraffic, VISSIM, Peer review of traffic studies conducted by others.
